Winter Stars 04:35
I made it through the spring and fall Before I really hit the wall I had to stop and find myself Pull my ambitions off the shelf Wasn’t what I was expecting To have something so worth connecting Don't know how, but I’ll try to say it I’ll try and tell you now Maybe I’m just burning time, but I’d waste all my time with you Maybe I’m the biggest fool, but I’d waste all my time with you When the snow outside is falling Quiet introspection’s calling Sparkle in the still of cloudless skies When the winter stars are in your eyes The summer left me burned and tired Not the quiet so desired I had to leave the sun behind To find a steady peace of mind Wasn’t what I saw before me To find someone who could adore me Never can say how, but I’ll try to say it, Try to tell you now Maybe I’m just burning time, but I’d waste all my time with you Maybe I’m the biggest fool, but I’d waste all my time with you When the snow outside is falling Quiet introspection’s calling Sparkle in the still of cloudless skies When the winter stars are in your eyes Sometimes words fall away And your mind can start to go astray I know just how, and it’s time to say it It’s time to tell you now Maybe I’m just burning time, but I’d waste all my time with you Maybe I’m the biggest fool, but I’d waste all my time with you When the snow outside is falling Quiet introspection’s calling Sparkle in the still of cloudless skies When the winter stars are in your eyes

Charlatan 03:23
I wish that I could read your mind 'cause I'm so tired of what's in mine It's the same old story And it's getting boring I'm stuck inside this box you made Waiting to be cut in half with your blade And the crowd's ecstatic So why are you panicked? You're a charlatan with everything to lose Your world comes crashing down with a single wrong move Open your third eye and look at what you've done Cut your heart out in front of everyone The whole world thinks you're so sublime Bending spoons with your beautiful mind But a black cat told me 'bout your gross skulduggery You're a charlatan with everything to lose Your world comes crashing down with a single wrong move Open your third eye and look at what you've done Cut your heart out in front of everyone And karma's a witch, and she's coming for you Grab all your lucky charms, say a prayer or two Your smoke and mirrors won't save you tonight Too bad you can't disappear without a fight You're a charlatan with everything to lose Your world comes crashing down with a single wrong move Open your third eye and look at what you've done Cut your heart out in front of everyone

Miss Hughes 03:26
Roll the celluloid across the screen For when we're free of miseries And the world's caught in the in-between Future's future and the faded dreams And when the evening passes into night And we're floating in the empty space Meet the ruins with your second sight A broken town so full of faded grace Miss Hughes, have you paid your dues? Do you wonder what it is we've got to lose? Miss Hughes, what's on your mind? Do you wonder what we're doing with our time? Did your parents tell you the real score? Are we gonna have to throw the fight? I know it's something that you've said before Tell me that I'm gonna be alright As the evening passes into dawn And we're lost among the empty space Above the ruins of the lost and gone A city broken by the concrete waste Miss Hughes, have you paid your dues? Do you wonder what it is we've got to lose? Miss Hughes, what's on your mind? Do you wonder what we're doing with our time? Miss Hughes, have you paid your dues? Do you wonder what it is we've got to lose? Miss Hughes, what's on your mind? Do you wonder what we're doing with our time?

The summer spins into the fall And warms again tomorrow The sunlight fades under the squall And shines against your sorrow A sea of drifting feels and reveries Bound up in some books I keep with me The restlessness of this whole world Ambitions of the ages Emotions glossy as a pearl Words on scattered pages A rush of faded photo memories Locked up in a box I keep with me Time that passes in hindsight California misses you tonight Lonely girls in coastal light California misses you tonight The summer spins into the fall And comes again tomorrow The sunlight cuts through the rainfall And burns away your sorrow A sense of touch and all our reveries Carried in the hands that stay with me Time that passes in hindsight California misses you tonight Lonely girls in coastal light California misses you tonight Time that passes in hindsight California misses you tonight Lonely girls in coastal light California misses you tonight

Stay With Me 03:28
This conversation’s running out Here come all those feelings of self doubt The rain outside wipes away All my infractions today If social’s how I should be No one ever explained that part to me So tonight why don’t you stay with me Through another dark and lonely night Stay with me and say I'll be alright Stay with me and never let me go This isn’t hard I know inside Even though for so long I’ve tried to hide When the crowd’s too cool for me I close my eyes and I recede If social’s how I should be No one every explained that part to me So tonight why don’t you stay with me Through another dark and lonely night Stay with me and say I'll be alright Stay with me and never let me go Stay with me (Goodbye self-consciousness) Stay with me (Farewell cautiousness) Stay with me And don't let me go Stay with me Through another dark and lonely night Stay with me and say I'll be alright Stay with me and never let me go

Mr. Moses 04:17
They tore down the neighbor's house for a parking lot They bulldozed the corner store for an overpass They filled in the public pool out of laziness And now everything is rubber, steel, and glass When the dust had all been settled And you signed on with the devil All the concrete crushing houses Left the air tainted and clouded Now it's seven decades later And the east side’s still a crater You can tell the subcommittee Mr. Moses wrecked the city They sold off the library to a drive-through chain And built up a highway in my sister’s room None of it has ever satisfied the crowd It's just an endless auto-centric dreary gloom When the dust had all been settled And you signed on with the devil All the concrete crushing houses Left the air tainted and clouded Now it's seven decades later And the east side’s still a crater You can tell the subcommittee Mr. Moses wrecked the city Drown us all in pavement The freeway must expand Just put living in the backseat, baby Robert’s wish is our command When the dust had all been settled And you signed on with the devil All the concrete crushing houses Left the air tainted and clouded Now it's seven decades later And the east side’s still a crater You can tell the subcommittee Mr. Moses wrecked the city When the dust had all been settled And you signed on with the devil All the concrete crushing houses Left the air tainted and clouded Now it's seven decades later And the east side’s still a crater You can tell the subcommittee Mr. Moses wrecked the city

Stuck inside for a million years With a cat and bunch of thoughts Feeling so strange and lost in space For a reason I forgot I found rose glasses on the ground So I wore them for a while It felt OK, but I'll take gray Over artificial smiles Keep your rose colored glasses Keep your rose colored glasses Keep your rose colored glasses Cause I'm a little black rain cloud I'm allowed To be a little bit bummed out for now Feeling left out for a million reasons That I made up in my brain Believing the worst is a hobby of mine A real masochistic game I try real hard to steer my thoughts In a sunnier direction now The storm clouds come, there goes my fun With an iceberg on the starboard bow Keep your rose colored glasses Keep your rose colored glasses Keep your rose colored glasses Cause I'm a little black rain cloud I'm allowed To be a little bit bummed out for now Rainbows are nice Unlike unwanted advice Barely holding on Wide awake and just waiting for dawn Keep your rose colored glasses Keep your rose colored glasses Keep your rose colored glasses Cause I'm a little black rain cloud I'm allowed To be a little bit bummed out for now

I finally found the box of things You kept behind my closet door And ran a hand along the tape Of the show you played back in oh-four I couldn’t listen to it again Cause I might remember your voice Cause when you sang And I sang along You never sang for me We never ever ever sang together I heard from Janie that you’re doing well Married and living in Monterey The ripples of your life don’t touch me The echo of your voice faded away I could call but then again I would remember your voice Cause when you sang And I sang along You never sang for me We never sang together And I want you to know I’m doing so much better now Living well is such bittersweet revenge Cause when you sang And I sang along You never sang for me We never sang together And I want you to know I’m doing so much better now Living well is such bittersweet revenge

The way you talk to me Like you’re the only one in the room You mention chemistry And hope we catalyze something soon I remain unencumbered I have nothing you want to claim You think I want your number But I don’t even want your name If I find a pen and write “do not perceive me” Across my forehead Will you ignore me please? Let me fade away (Like a sun bleached memory) Please fade away When you finally forget me I’ll be free You really want to know Why I don’t smile when you tease me It’s time for you to go While I just want to keep this easy If I find a pen and write “do not perceive me” Across my forehead Will you ignore me please? Let me fade away (Like a sun bleached memory) Please fade away When you finally forget me I’ll be free If circumstance allowed You’d know when to move on But since you’re hanging around I really should be gone If I find a pen and write “do not perceive me” Across my forehead Will you ignore me please? Let me fade away (Like a sun bleached memory) Please fade away When you finally forget me I’ll be free I’ll be free I’ll be free

If snark is my oxygen Self-doubt is my H20 And right now I think I’m drowning I thought you might want to know Life’s not a pop quiz So I’ll keep my Q’s to myself cos you’ve got no A’s I’ll just go through the motions And wait for you to requite your awkward malaise I’m so used to being ignored But this is ridiculous I don’t mind attention at the right place, The right time — that might be right now Now the spotlight’s on you And I’m just the girl in the background Before I’ve started I’m through Cause I’m not down with the right crowd I’m the girl behind you In this thing that I don’t want to do When the thing that you wanted isn’t the thing that you get That’s when life gets weird What’s the use of trying when for all anyone cares You might as well’ve disappeared I know I should learn to speak up But I’m not the only one in this room If I’m clueless, then shame on me But if you say nothing, shame on you Now the spotlight’s on you And I’m just the girl in the background Before I’ve started I’m through Cause I’m not down with the right crowd I’m the girl behind you In this thing that I don’t want to do I’m so sorry (not sorry) That I don’t meet your expectations I didn’t realize I wasn’t even worth A single two-way conversation Now the spotlight’s on you And I’m just the girl in the background Before I’ve started I’m through Cause I’m not down with the right crowd I’m the girl behind you In this thing that I don’t want to do

about

"In Coastal Light" moves beyond the fresh start we had with "Beautiful and True," an evolution and growth in both sound and songwriting. Drawing not only from 1960s pop and 1990s jangle, but also incorporating elements of yacht rock and alternative rock, "In Coastal Light" is the next step for our sound.

We put our hearts into it and we hope you enjoy the results. <3
